An article in the New York Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/19/us/politics/19campaign.html?ref=us
Senator Clinton accused Senator Obama of plagiarizing his speech. Wow. There's really just nothing much to say about this, except to note how it will play out. Many people will hear the soundbite or read the headline without the article. They will get the idea into their head, and rebuttals will sound (as they always do to uninterested people) like rationalizations. It won't matter to some that Deval Patrick is Obama's friend, that he is happy to let Obama use his ideas, that the ideas stand without having to be Obama's (because they are a response to another idiotic Clinton assertion - see below, where I made the same point as Patrick and Obama). Some people won't hear that - probably people who already support Clinton - and that's why it's effective.
This is dirty politics. Plain and simple. If it were real politics, we would be talking about policies, ideas, philosophies, but it's not. Hillary Clinton is a hypocrite, and her conduct discredits her policies. Even if she was Ron Paul, I wouldn't want someone running the country who deals with the public this way.
